This genetic disorder is particularly prevalent in regions such as sub-Saharan Africa, India, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East, where it has a significant impact on public health. Approximately 300,000 infants are born with this condition annually worldwide. Sub-Saharan Africa shoulders a considerable portion of the burden, with 75% of individuals affected by sickle cell disease residing in this region.  ## Specialized Red Blood Cell Health Expertise In Healthcare today, there is a tremendous need for well-validated biomarkers to objectively monitor red blood cell health. At Functional Fluidics our red blood cell function biomarkers support these evolving needs.
